At Low Cost Pet Vet, our goal is to provide great service at affordable prices. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, and our prices already include:

- Day boarding
- Post-op pain medication
- The complete surgical procedure
What Does My Pet Need for Surgery?
For spays, neuters, and dentals, Low Cost Pet Vet requires all pets be current on vaccinations and free of fleas/ticks. Also, dogs must be current on heartworm preventative (or have a recent negative heartworm test). If your pet needs vaccinations, a heartworm test, or flea treatment Low Cost Pet Vet can usually provide those the day of the surgery at additional charge.
We also require a $20 deposit, which will stay on your account and go towards your procedure. For a complete refund, appointments must be cancelled within 48 hours, or rescheduled within 24 hours.
What Else Do You Recommend?
On top of what we require, Low Cost Pet Vet also recommends several additional services as additional insurance. Although we don’t need them for the surgery to be successful, we recommend them as an extra measure of security and safety.
IV Fluids ($39)
We recommend IV fluids for all surgeries. IV fluids support hydration and blood pressure. They also provide immediate access to the bloodstream.
Pre-surgery bloodwork can detect disease that we couldn’t see with a physical exam. While we recommend bloodwork for every dog, it’s especially important for older dogs (who are more likely to have pre-existing conditions).
We recommend microchipping for all pets! Not only is it quick and easy, but it also lasts a lifetime.
Although not all surgeries require pre-operative x-rays, radiographs (or x-rays) on pets under anesthesia are much better quality. If your pet has symptoms of a condition where x-rays would be useful, we can do x-rays under anesthesia before or after the surgery. X-Rays are also a good idea to check for spread of a tumor prior to removal.
If your pet needs to have a growth/lump removed, then please mark it with nail polish or a permanent marker. If desired, we can also send the tumor tissue to the lab for evaluation.
We make these valuable services available, but not required. To require them would force us to more than double our prices; which would be cost prohibitive for many clients.
Finally, we do include all services that we consider necessary in our basic packages. For our spay/neuters and dentals, we include:
- Preanesthetic exams
- Electronic monitoring
- Day boarding
- Antibiotic injection
- Pre-op and post-op analgesics (pain meds)
- Gas anesthesia
- Nail trimming
- And all services listed earlier!
