Veterinarian / Owner
Dr. Rod Munsell grew up in south Texas outside the town of Falfurrias, just north of the Rio Grande Valley. During this time, he worked many agricultural jobs including ranch work, veterinary clinics, farm labor (watermelon stacking, cucumber picking, grain shoveling, cotton stomping, hay hauling) and even work as an oil field floor hand.
After high school graduation, Dr. Munsell was accepted to and attended Texas A&M University where he earned a degree in Animal Science and learned a lot of Aggie jokes. Dr. Munsell was accepted to the College of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Along the way, he met the most beautiful and lovely girl, way out of his redneck league, but Karen would later be his amazing wife.
In August 2018, he opened Low Cost Pet Vet, guided by the core values and principles of treating people with respect, keeping prices low, providing convenient and friendly service, and reaching out to the underserved Hispanic community.
Dr. Munsell Lives with his wife Dr. Karen Munsell, and two adult children, Rebekah and Jed, two dogs (Mo and Sadie) and two cats (Grey Man and Liberty) in Euless TX. The family has a few cattle and a horse on a small piece of land by Paradise TX.
